Principal Certification
This summer I decided to return to school in the Fall to pursue my Principal Certification at Texas A&M University - San Antonio. The reason for this decision was that in most school districts in Texas it is required to have this certification in order to hold a Director position (Director of Technology, Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Director of Library Services, etc). Currently I hold my B.S. in ECIS and my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. I also teach grad courses part time at the University I graduated from a couple of years ago.
So, what does this have to do with the principal certification. This weekend I went online to register for classes for the Spring and was denied stating that I had a hold on my account. I contacted the school and they stated that they do not have my GRE or GMAT scores on file. They have all my transcripts and can see that I have both of my degrees, yet they still want my GRE or GMAT scores.
I don’t know how it works at other places when going for a certification but I would think that seeing that I already have two degrees they wouldnt need these scores? Is this ridiculous of them or am I just being a snob and being difficult?
